Eu sunt Nevăstuică (în engleză I Am Weasel) este un serial animat creat de David Feiss, difuzat de Cartoon Network. Acesta îi are ca protagoniști pe Nevăstuica, și prietenul său, Babuinul. Varianta inițială a genericului serialului este interpretată de April March. Eu sunt Nevăstuică a fost inițial o parte a serialului Vaca și Puiul. Primele episoade erau cu Vaca și Puiul, iar următoarele cu Eu sunt Nevăstuică. În România serialul este de asemenea numit Nevăstuica. Personajele principale Nevăstuica (I Am Weasel) este foarte inteligentă și lucrează în orice domeniu. De-a lungul episoadelor serialului a fost: dentist, scriitor, savant, doctor, inginer, filosof și multe altele. Are de asemenea o fire fermecătoare. De regulă succesul este de partea ei. Imaginea obișnuită a Nevăstuicii este fără haine. Totuși, ea apare uneori îmbrăcată în haine specifice activităților sale. Nevăstucă îl numește deseori pe Babuin „Domnul Babuin”, iar în episodul „I.R. Gentlemans” i-a spus „Monsieur Babuin”. Îi place să declare „Eu sunt Nevăstuică!” înainte de a acționa într-o situație. I Am Weasel is an American animated television series produced by Hanna-Barbera with Cartoon Network Studios, created by David Feiss, and broadcast on Cartoon Network. The series chronicles the adventures of I.M. Weasel, an internationally famous, rather eloquent, highly intelligent and much talented weasel who is adored by everyone, and I.R. Baboon, an ugly and idiotic baboon who is envious about Weasel's success and constantly tries to be better than him. The show premise begins from a humorous take on the classic nursery rhyme "Pop Goes the Weasel"; in fact, the series theme song, composed by Bill Fulton, written by Richard Pursel, and sung by April March, is based on the well-known musical version of the rhyme. I Am Weasel was originally a part of the Cow and Chicken show, often airing as the third of three segments in an episode, after two Cow and Chicken segments. Eventually, I Am Weasel was spun off into its own series, aired in 1999 with reruns airing until April 2006, with both new episodes and the episodes that had aired on Cow and Chicken included in this series, totaling 79 episodes. Today, the series is labeled a classic of Cartoon Network's late 1990s collection of Cartoon Cartoons (a collective name for the network's original animated programming). Since April 13, 2012, it is being aired on Cartoon Network, on the block Cartoon Planet. This show also airs on Boomerang, but only airs seasons 1-4 with the Cow and Chicken segments.

Tabăra lui Lazlo este un desen animat difuzat pe Cartoon Network, creat de americanul Joe Murray. Este vorba despre un maimuțoi brazilian numit Lazlo, un elefant indian Raj și un rinocer excentric numit Clam. Ei locuiesc în Tabăra Rinichi, împreună cu Maestrul Lumpus, Slăbănogul, asistentul maestrului Lumpus, și ceilalți prieteni ai lui Lazlo. Ei sunt Samson, Edward, Dave, Ping-Pong, Chip, Skip și alții. Dincolo de lacul Lacustru este Tabăra Veverițelor și Cabana Ghinda, unde locuiesc multe veverițe care sunt fete și sunt prieteni cu Cercetașii. Cele trei veverițe importante din Cabana Ghinda sunt mangusta Patsy, care îl iubește pe Lazlo, girafa Nina, care este foarte inteligentă și aligatorul Gretchen, căreia îi e foame oricând și vrea să îi mănânce pe toți din jurul ei. Camp Lazlo is an American animated television series created by Joe Murray. The series was released on July 8, 2005, in the United States and was released on November 1, 2005, in the United Kingdom. The show features a Boy Scout-like summer camp with a cast of anthropomorphic animal characters, a "retro" type of humor and silliness akin to Murray's previous series, Rocko's Modern Life, which aired on Nickelodeon a decade earlier, and cultural references.
The series ended its two-and-a-half-year run on Cartoon Network on March 27, 2008, with the series finale "Lumpus' Last Stand" after 5 seasons and 61 episodes. This series returned to Cartoon Network in October 2012 in re-runs on the revived block, Cartoon Planet. Starting January 2014, it began running with independent airtime on the network's sister channel, Boomerang.
The show's theme song is sung to the tune of Bingo.
The cartoon is set in a universe inhabited solely by anthropomorphic animals of many species and focuses on a trio of campers attending a poorly-run summer camp known as Camp Kidney; Lazlo the eccentric, optimistic monkey, Raj the Indian elephant, and Clam, the dimwitted albino pygmy rhinoceros, and their multiple surreal misadventures. Other characters include the selfish, ill-tempered Scoutmaster Lumpus and his mild-mannered assistant Slinkman the banana slug, the boys' assortment of fellow campers including the disgruntled, surly platypus Edward and the klutzy, accident-prone, geeky Guinea pig Samson. The program also features a rival summer camp attended solely by girls, primarily focusing on Lazlo, Raj, and Clam's respective female counterparts attending that camp; Patsy the adventurous mongoose, Gretchen the alligator, and Nina the wise giraffe, along with the object of Scoutmaster Lumpus's affections, Miss Doe, the head of the all-girl camp, Acorn Flats. Some episodes may involve the Bean Scouts' attempts at unveiling the truth behind camp legends or clowning around, infuriating their peers or placing themselves in a variety of odd situations commonly based around traditional or fictionalized, bizarre camp activities.

Setting

The setting of the show was designed to deliberately bring a nostalgic feeling of childhood summer camps and "evoke a comfortable place to visit." The colors instill the feeling of summer camp, rather than basing color schemes on real-life colors; Murray and Sue Mondt, the art director, chose the colors. In Camp Lazlo, the sky can be yellow, and trees are not always green and brown. For the architecture and objects, books with cabins, camps and Native American artifacts were consulted. Ultimately, Murray wanted to create a place where nature prevails, and the hustle and bustle of real-life is left behind, with no technology to distract from the impressions of camp life. He describes the camp as having a "retro" feel. Murray likes 1950s and early 1960s designs of objects like advertising art, lamps, and old vacation brochures, and he said that the "brushy quality that developed at that time" heavily influenced the setting.
The exact geographical locations of these settings is unknown.

• Camp Kidney, set in the Pimpleback Mountains next to Leakey Lake, is the camp where most of the show takes place. This is a summer camp attended by a group of boy scout-like campers called The Bean Scouts. In keeping the theme of the name of the camp, the campers are allowed to name their cabins after various types of beans: Jelly Cabin, Pinto Cabin, Fava Cabin, and so on. The camp is known for a low standard of quality, and has been threatened with closure more than once. The camp is led by Scoutmaster Lumpus, with most of the administrative details assigned to his assistant, Mr. Slinkman. A full staff complements the camp, including a nurse and a chef.
• Acorn Flats is across the lake from Camp Kidney, attended by girls of similar age, called the Squirrel Scouts. Acorn Flats has higher quality facilities than Camp Kidney, a point of contention between the two respective camps, with Acorn Flats being the more dominant in the rivalry. The leader of the Squirrel Scouts is Jane Doe, and her assistant, Ms. Rubella Mucus. Both Camp Kidney and Acorn Flats are part a larger hierarchical organization, under the direct command of Commander Hoo-ha, with "The Big Bean" as the head of all scout chapters, which includes Beans and Squirrels and (possibly) Tomato Scouts.
• Prickly Pines is a town near both camps with full commercial facilities: a post office, several restaurants, a laundromat, and other sundry stores.

Devine filmul cu nr. 17 produs de Walt Disney. „101 dalmațieni” a apărut prima dată în cinematografe pe 25 ianuarie 1961.

Poveste

Pongo este un dalmațian care trăiește alături de stăpânul său, Roger Radcliffe, un compozitor într-o casă micuță din Londra. Plictisit de viața sa, Pongo decide că este timpul să aibă, atât el cât și Roger, o soție. În timp ce se uita pe geam, vede femei și cățelușe de toate felurile, însă niciuna nu e pe placul lui. Exact atunci apare o femeie, Anita, cu cățeaua ei, un dalmațian. Pongo setează ceasul la ora 5, deoarece abia atunci era scos la plimbare de Roger.
Când cei doi ajung în parc, ca deobicei, Roger se așază pe iarbă și își fumează pipa. Însă Pongo trebuia să îi facă să se întâlnească. Prima încercare devine un eșec, deoarece Anita pleacă așa că îi împinge pe amândoi în lac. Așa cei doi își fac o relație.
După un timp, se căsătoresc iar Pongo împreună cu cățeaua Anitei, Perdita, fac o serie de puișori. Însă, din păcate, apare Cruella de Vil care vrea să-i cumpere pe toți ca să-și facă alta blană, și de data asta una cu pete. Cum era de așteptat, Anita și Roger nu acceptă, așa că Cruella trimite doi hoți, Jasper și Horace, să fure dalmațienii.
Menajera casei, care avea grijă de cei 15 pui, nu-i mai găsește și toți suferă din cauza asta. Între timp, Jasper și Horace țin puii într-un apartament și îi lasă să se uite la TV. Acolo mai sunt și alți pui de dalmațieni, cumpărați. În total 99. Tibb, o pisică îi duce pe toți afară, în timp ce Pongo și Perdita se îndreaptă spre ei. 101 Dalmatians is a 1996 American family comedy film written and produced by John Hughes, and directed by Stephen Herek. It was produced and released by Walt Disney Pictures, and was a live-action remake of the animated 1961 Disney film of the same name, which in turn was based on Dodie Smith's 1956 novel The Hundred and One Dalmatians. The film stars Glenn Close as the iconic villainess Cruella de Vil, and Jeff Daniels as Roger, the owner of the 101 dalmatians.
Unlike the 1961 animated version, Pongo, Perdita, and the 99 Puppies are all played by real-life dalmatian actors and none of them talk. Its theatrical sequel, 102 Dalmatians, was released in 2000, with Close and McInnerny reprising their roles.

Plot

American video game designer Roger Dearly (Jeff Daniels) lives with his pet dalmatian, Pongo, in London. One day, Roger takes Pongo for a walk, and he sets his eyes on a beautiful female Dalmatian named Perdy. After a frantic chase through the streets of London, Roger and Pongo discover that Perdy likes Pongo; and her owner, fashion designer Anita Campbell-Green (Joely Richardson), falls in love with Roger when they meet in St. James's Park. They get married along with Perdy and Pongo.
Anita works as a fashion designer at the House of de Vil. Her boss, the pampered and very glamorous Cruella de Vil (Glenn Close), has two passions in life: cigarettes and fur. Anita, inspired by her Dalmatian, designs a coat made with spotted fur. Cruella is intrigued by the idea of making garments out of actual Dalmatians. When she learns that Perdy has given birth to 15 puppies, she offers the couple a decent price for them, but they refuse. Flying into a maniacal rage, Cruella dismisses Anita and seeks revenge against her and Roger. She has her henchmen, Jasper and Horace (Hugh Laurie and Mark Williams), steal the puppies and deliver them to her ancient country estate, De Vil Mansion.
With the help of the other dogs and animals scattered throughout London, the puppies manage to outwit Jasper and Horace, and escape to a farm, where their parents have been called to wait. But shortly after, Cruella, the glamorous 'city girl', shows up and tries to retrieve them. However, she is kicked into a pig pen full of mud by a horse, she having already been covered in molasses. All of the Dalmatians get home by the Metropolitan Police Service, who then arrest Cruella (now covered in molasses and mud) and her henchmen. Roger and Anita adopt the other Dalmatians she stole, bringing the total to 101. Roger designs a successful video game featuring Dalmatian puppies as the protagonists and Cruella as the villain, and they move to the English countryside with their millions.

Mihaela și Azorel sunt două personaje create de caricaturistul Nell Cobar.

Mihaela e o fetiță blondă cu fundițe în păr, care alături cățelușul Azorel, trece prin tot felul de situații. De câteva ori, chiar, ștrengarul cățel o distrage pe Mihaela de la învățătură, vrând să se joace cu ea.

Serialul a fost difuzat între anii 1970 și 1980, repurtând un succes extraordinar. La televizor, înaintea Mihaelei a fost difuzat Pătrățel, iar după ea au urmat Bălănel și Miaunel.

Spre deosebire de alte desene animate din acea vreme, aventurile eroinei cu fundițe erau difuzate în cadrul 1001 de seri (rubrică inițiată chiar de Nell Cobar) zilnic, la ora 19:20, după care urma Telejurnalul.

Mihaela nu avea voce ca alți eroi de desene animate, deoarece serialul trebuia vândut în străinătate, iar datorită vocilor, dublajul complica lucrurile. Muzica a fost compusă de Margareta Pâslaru.

La începutul anilor '80 programul de la televizor a fost scurtat drastic, ștergându-se și cele 1001 de seri pentru a face cât mai mult loc propagandei comuniste.

Imediat după Revoluția română din 1989, Mihaela a reapărut într-o revistă lunară cu același nume, dedicată copiilor și redactată de Nell Cobar. Printre cei care au colaborat la această revistă se numără și actorul Iurie Darie. Revista a durat până la moartea lui Cobar, în 1993.

Galactik Football este un serial animat de televiziune francez, co-produs de Alphanim, France 2, Jetix Europe și Welkin-Animation. A început difuzarea sezonului trei în teritoriile europene în iunie 2010.
În universul Galactik Football, locuitorii lumilor Galaxiei Zaelion se află într-o competiție a unui sport asemănător cu fotbalul, numit Fotbal Galactic; sportul este complicat prin adiția Fluxului, care îmbunătățește atributele unui jucător, precum viteza, agilitatea și puterea sau îi conferă abilități speciale, precum teleportarea. Povestea urmează soarta unei echipe neexperimentate, "Snow Kids", pe măsură ce aceștia își propun să câștige Cupa Galactică de Fotbal.

• Micro Ice - Este cel mai haios jucător poartă numărul 3 pe tricou Micro-Ice a fost și primul jucător descoperit de Aarch când s-a întors pe Akilian și este primul care descoperă că Aarch s-a ascuns într-un turn abandonat. A fost deasemenea și primul jucător care este ales voluntar de Clamp în holotrainer pe vremea aceea era mijlocaș.A fost ales primul jucător din cei 8 originali ai Copiii Zăpezii și inițial a fost lăsat rezervă. A fost mutat pe postul de atacant după ce Sinedd a fost dat afară.Cu toate acestea el doar cu mama lui a supraviețuit după ce a fost lovit de Meta-Flux la naștere și din această cauză a suferit și o boală cauzată de Meta-Flux el însă nu și-a cunoscut niciodată tatăl.
• D'Jok - este căpitanul echipei poartă numărul 9 pe tricou cu toate că Rocket avea să devină căpitanul echipei dar a fost o vreme căpitan și avea niște calități bune.Și D'Jok are o tragedie fiindcă mama sa naturală a murit după ce l-a salvat pe D'Jok de la incendiu.Însă tatăl său natural este întradevăr Sonny Blackbones,are o relație cu Mei în primele două sezoane după ce Mei în sezonul 3 ajunge să joace la Umbre și se iubește cu Sinedd,mama sa adoptivă este Maya. În sezonul 3 a jucat pentru echipa Paradisia în turneul de pe acceași planetă.
• Rocket - este căpitanul adevărat al echipei Copiii Zăpezii poartă numărul 5 pe tricou tatăl său Norata a fost un mare jucător al echipei Copiii Zăpezii dar după ce a fost acoperit de gheață stadionul Akilian acesta a avut și un accident la picior și în prezent se ocupă de flori împreună cu mama sa Kira.Tatăl său nu i-a dat voie niciodată să joace fotbal tocmai din acest motiv să nu pățească și el ceva,este cel care avea în sezonul 2 să fie suspendat temporar de ligă după ce a dus-o pe Tia în Pădurea Genesis și a folosit suflul ca să o salveze de la o căzătura, iar acesta s-a dus să joace Netherball.Însă după multe meciuri în arenă a fost învins de Tia el întorcându-se la echipă și redevenind căpitan.Din sezonul 3 devine antrenorul echipei Copiii Zăpezii pentru că Aarch a fost surprins sărutându-se cu Adin, președinta ligii și a fost acuzat e conflict de interese.
• Tia - poartă numărul 4 pe tricou este unul din cei mai bune aruncătoare la poartă ca și Mei deasemenea.

în sezonul 2 cade de pe stâncă în Pădurea Genesis și Rocket este acuzat că nu trebuia să meargă în Pădurea Genesis însă el nu a vrut să asculte de acesta și Rocket s-a supărat pe Aarch și a plecat supărat de la echipă. In sezonul 3 devine căpitan după ce Rocket este antrenor.

• Mei - poartă numărul 7 pe tricou este foarte bună prietenă cu Tia făcând cumpărături împreună,Mei în sezonul 3 s-a enervat pe D'Jok și a plecat la echipa Umbrelor unde a avut o relație cu Sinedd.
• Mark - poartă numărul 6 pe tricou este cel care avea să fie chemat de urgență de Aarch după ce a fost suspendat Rocket temporar.
• Thran - poartă numărul 2 pe tricou și este cel mai inimos jucător,el ajutându-și fratele foarte mult când pățește ceva.
• Ahito - poartă numărul 1 pe tricou este unul din cei mai buni portari însă i se face rău în sezonul 2 și este înlocuit de Yuki.
• Yuki - poartă numărul 8 pe tricou îl înlocuiește pe Ahito în sezonul 2 după ce i s-a făcut rău însă din sezonul 3 este în echipa Elektras.
• Aarch - este fostul antrenor al echipei Copiii Zăpezii. Și-a dat demisia in sezonul 3 dupa ce a avut un conflict cu presa.
• Profesorul Clamp - este cel care trimite jucătorii să se antreneze în holotrainer să le verifice fizicul,forța și nu numai.Odată când era împreună cu Sonny Blackbones lucrau la Meta Flux pe vremea aceea se numeau Yarrit Labnor iar Sonny I'Son.Datorită obsesiei lui Bleylock pentru Meta Flux cei doi însă nu au mai lucrat Bleylock găsindu-și alți lucrători.

The Shadows (Umbrele), fluxul Shadows' Smog (Ceața Umbrelor)

• Sinedd - poartă numărul 11 pe tricou este rivalul lui D'Jok făcând mereu mișto de el. Cândva au fost prieteni atunci când era la Copiii Zăpezii. În sezonul 2 i-a sugerat lui Rocket să joace Netherball și chiar s-a confruntat cu el, dar a fost învins. În sezonul 3 revine la echipa Copiii Zăpezii.
• Nihlis - nu se cunoaște numărul de pe tricou este un atacant al Umbrelor cu o tehnică foarte bună de păcălește orice adversar. În sezonul 3 a jucat la echipa Ciclopilor.
• Fulmugus - nici la acesta nu se cunoaște numărul este fostul căpitan al Umbrelor era cel mai rapid jucător nu putea nimeni să treacă de el. În sezonul 2 a jucat Netherball.

• Stevens - poartă numărul 9 pe tricou este foarte agil are o tehnică extraordinară este și căpitanul echipei Piraților driblează foarte bine este bine organizat niciodată nu renunță este foarte optimist. în sezonul 2 a jucat Netherball, dar a fost învins de Rocket.
• Hawkins - poartă numărul 1 pe tricou este portarul echipei Piraților .

The Cyclops (Ciclopii)

• Akkamukk - este unul din cei mai buni jucători ai Ciclopilor poartă numărul 3 pe tricou este și căpitanul echipei numele său complet este Akkamukk al zecelea. În sezonul 3 joacă pentru Xenons în turneul organizat pe planeta Paradisia, dar este dat afară pentru că era cel mai slab jucător din echipă.

• Woowamboo - poartă numărul 3 pe tricou este atacantul echipei Wambas. A jucat Netherball în sezonul 2 dar pierzând în fața lui Rocket. Woowamboo este un jucător genial cu o agilitate greu de stăpânit fiind neînvins. De altfel Wambas nu a reușit să căștige cupa, Woowamboo rămâne unul din cei mai buni jucători de acolo. În sezonul 3 a jucat pentru Lightnins.

• Lun-Zeara - poartă numărul 4 pe tricou este unul din cei mai tehnici atacanți pe care îi poate avea Wambas.

• Woonnabora - poartă numărul 7 pe tricou este căpitanul echipei Wambas.

• Boonzoff - poartă numărul 1 pe tricou este portarul echipei Wambas.

• Lun-Zia - poartă numărul 2 pe tricou este fundașul echipei Wambas. A fost chemată la echipa Copiii Zăpezii dar nu a rămas mult timp întorcându-se la echipa Wambas.
• Wolfen și Zora - sunt niște simpli suporteri care au participat la arena unde a jucat Rocket Netherball.

The Xenons (Xenons)

• Luur - poartă numărul 7 pe tricou este singurul jucător al echipei cu o tehnică rapidă care îngheață orice adversar.În sezonul 2 a participat în arenă unde a jucat cu Rocket dar a fost învins.

• Phantom - este portarul echipei Xenons, a apărut în sezonul 2,a apărat de multe ori bine mai puțin la penalty-uri luând doar 5 goluri împotriva echipelor adverse.

The Rykers (Rykers)

• Kernor - poartă numărul 1 pe tricou este portarul echipei Rykers. În sezonul 2 a jucat Netherball, dar a fost învins de Rocket.

The Elektras (Elektras)

• Xyria - este antrenorul echipei Elektras.
• Iuki - in sezonul 3 Iuki a jucat la Electras.A reusit sa obtina fluxul lor Valul Tectoniei.

The Lightnings (Lightnings)

• Warren - poartă numărul 9 pe tricou este atacantul echipei Lightnings este cunoscut pentru faptul că D'Jok este fanul său dar și prietenul său în același timp care mereu îi dă sfaturi.Este și căpitanul echipei Lightnings, în sezonul 2 a încercat să-l convingă pe Rocket să se întoarcă la echipă dar nu a reușit.

• Sarlight - poartă numărul 4 pe tricou este fundașul echipei Lightnings.

• Nidzo - nu i se cunoaște numărul și nici poziția pe care joacă.

Team Paradisia (Paradisia)

• Nina - poartă numărul 8 pe tricou are o soră geamană pe nume Nikki.În sezonul 3 are întâlnire cu Mark,este un Cyborg nu are vârstă,joacă pe postul de atacant.

• Kim - poartă numărul 2 pe tricou ea este Cyborg partenera ei este Aya 9.Primul său gol l-a reușit împotriva celor de la Wambas apoi după ce a învins pe Copiii Zăpezii a revenit la forma umană împreună cu Nikki ,joacă pe postul de mijlocaș.

• Jane - poartă numărul 5 pe tricou ea ca parteneră pe Alca 1,joacă pe postul de fundaș.A revenit și ea la forma umană.

Friends (Prieteni)

• Corso - este cel care împreună cu Sonny Blackbones i-au dejucat planurile lui Bleylock.

• Artie - este un fan loial al lui Micro Ice lucrează l-a o firmă de echipamente sportive. Face și el parte din gașca piraților.

• Benett - face și el parte din gașca piraților la fel ca Sonny Blackbones și Corso.

• Sonny Blackbones - liderul echipei Piraților a reușit în sezonul 1 să i-a metafluxul din mâinile lui Bleylock crezând că atunci s-a sfârșit cu el. Este tatăl biologic al lui D'Jok.

Enemies (Dușmani)

• Bleylock - apare doar în primele două sezoane, iar în al treilea sezon a murit, în sezonul 2 Sonny Blackbones a crezut că Bleylock e mort dar s-a înșelat, a fost liderul Technoid în sezonul 1. În sezonul 2 a inventează Multi-Flux-ul și distruge cu acesta planeta umbrelor, iar locuitorii ramân fără flux. În sezonul 2 Bleylock arăta de groază după ce a căzut în sezonul 1 când voia să îi ieie metafluxul din mâinile lui Sonny dar nu a reușit după a fost reconstruit din părți de android pentru ca avea multe răni arsuri și zgârieturi că i se zgâriase sau arsă îi era fața pe jumătate și i-a fost pusă o placă de la capul unei android pe fața lui ca să nu i se mai vadă mâinile i-au fost puse de la android la fel ca și picioarele el purtând un costum negru cu o pelerină care îi putea ascunde și fața sau chipul până și când vorbea suna ca un android.

• Lordul Phoenix - este cel care a fost prima dată liderul Piraților, dar a fost învins de Sonny Blackbones. În sezonul 3 a organizat un turneu pe planeta Paradisia.

• Harris - este asistentul lui Duke Maddox dar el strict secret în sezonul 2 lucrează pentru Bleylock, dar l-a oprit de la distrugerea stadionului Genesis. Este dat afară de la Technoid este angajat de Vega pentru a o ajuta la Multi-Flux.

Galactik Football is a French animated television series, co-produced by Alphanim, France 2, Jetix Europe, and Welkin-Animation. Its third 26-episode season aired in Europe in June 2010.
In the universe of Galactik Football, the inhabited worlds of the Zaelion Galaxy compete in Galactik Football, a sport analogous to football, but played seven to a side. The game is complicated by the addition of Flux, which enhances a player's attributes such as speed, strength, and agility, or grants special powers such as teleportation. The story follows the fate of an inexperienced Galactik Football team, the Snow Kids, as they aim to compete in the Galactik Football Cup.

Plot

Season 1

The story begins during a football match between the home team of planet Akillian and the Shadows. As Aarch, captain of the Akillians, takes a direct free kick, an explosion is heard and an avalanche sweeps over the stadium, marking the beginning of the Akillian Ice Age and the loss of The Breath, Akillian's Flux.
The storyline jumps forward 15 years. Aarch and his friend Clamp, a robotic technician, arrive back on Akillian for the first time since the game. Aarch aims to create a new Akillian Galactik Football team capable of winning the Cup, and selects a group of talented teenagers for his team: D'Jok, Sinedd, Micro-Ice, Mei, Thran, Ahito, Rocket, and Tia. However, Rocket's father and Aarch's brother does not want him on the team, and agree only to let him play on the condition that the newly named Snow Kids win a match against the incumbent Akillian team, the Red Tigers, who are coached by Aarch's estranged old friend and team-mate, Artegor Nexus. During her tryout, Tia reveals that she still has the power of the long-lost Breath.
The Snow Kids beat the Red Tigers, becoming the new Akillian team. However, an embittered Artegor lures Sinedd away from the Snow Kids and recruits him to the Shadows, whom he has agreed to coach.
As the Snow Kids progress through the competition, each develops the Breath of Akillian. There are some intra-team tensions caused by Tia and Rocket's burgeoning relationship and Micro-Ice's unrequited crush on Mei. Unknown to any of them is that all seven of the players have been affected by the Meta-Flux, a synthetic undetectable Flux, inadvertently created by Clamp and pirate Sonny Blackbones, that was the true origin of the Akillian Ice Age. This Flux is now coveted by the ruthless General Bleylock, who happily endangers the Snow Kids to get his hands on it.
With the help of Clamp and his old partner, the pirate Sonny Blackbones, the Snow Kids escape General Bleylock's machinations and win the Galactik Football Cup.

Season 3

A year after their second Galactic Football Cup victory in succession, the mysterious Lord Phoenix invites everyone in the galaxy to a special mixed-flux tournament on the planet Paradisia. After a bad friendly match against the Shadows, D'Jok and Mei have an argument. Mei dumps D'Jok and joins the Shadows. Yuki leaves the Snow Kids temporarily to join the Elektras, and D'Jok leaves the team after being recruited by Team Paradisia. A Wamba named Lun-Zia joins the Snow Kids for the mixed-flux tournament. Due to the injection of flux in the core of the Planet Paradisia, Paradisia explodes but luckily everyone was evacuated from the planets with the help of the Galactik Football Players.
Disney XD UK aired the first 8 episodes of season 3 in 2010. However a long hiatus would follow. It was 10 October 2011 before Disney XD was able to air episode 9 of season 3. The remaining episodes have been aired on consecutive days, with the season finale airing on 27 October 2011.

Captain Flamingo is a Canadian animated television series, which chronicles the adventures of the protagonist and main character Milo Powell (a.k.a. Captain Flamingo).

The television series was produced by Atomic Cartoons, Breakthrough Films & Television, The Heroic Film Company and PASI Animation, and premiered on YTV in Canada on February 7, 2006 and it is shown on Jetix in the United Kingdom as well as Nicktoons and the ABC in Australia.

News said that the series would debut on JETIX in the United States in 2007,however, Toon Disney's new schedule had premiered this show on January 28, 2008 at 8:30AM. As of August 12, 2008, Captain Flamingo was removed from the Toon Disney schedule but returned September 2 at 5:30 a.m. When Toon Disney got rebranded into Disney XD on February 13, 2009, Captain Flamingo was once again removed, and it hasn't aired in the United States since.

The titular character is of an unspecified young age. He has no real super-powers of note, just a desire to help "li'l kids" in trouble. His "super powers" take the form of novelty items, such as a whoopee cushion, among other things.

The series is currently rerunning on YTV, as of January 2014.

Plot

Milo Powell is an ordinary young Canadian boy until a kid is in trouble. Any time a kid yells "Uh-oh! Flamingo!", Milo transforms into Captain Flamingo, whose mission is to help little kids who need assistance. Captain Flamingo is aided in his missions by his best friend Lizbeth Amanda Zaragoza, who apparently has a not so secret crush on him. CF also has a little brother named Thor.

Quite often, when called upon to carry out a mission, Captain Flamingo is busily engaged with something else, a personal goal or problem (such as waiting in line to buy an ice cream before the truck leaves or runs out of ice cream, but someone calls to him, needing his help); like a true hero, he must, and usually does, put aside his own needs to help others (although, quite often, his actions in successfully aiding the person in distress lead to a successful outcome for his personal goals). Captain Flamingo seldom successfully solves a problem on his first try; in fact, it is not uncommon for his initial attempts to make things worse. In trying to solve the simple problems of various little kids he encounters (such as, say, a lost pencil or a missing sock), Captain Flamingo often gets into tight spots. He has, in various episodes, gotten trapped in a bubble with a full bladder, gone underwater to battle an eel, and has gotten trapped in a deadly matrix of bouncing superballs. Despite this, he never gives up and meets every failure or setback with a new attempt. He eventually gets out of these situations by using his "Bird Brain"; this can be his own instincts, but it usually is Lizbeth. A random thought he speaks aloud might be picked up on by Lizbeth and elaborated into an actual, detailed plan (which Lizbeth will assume was what Captain Flamingo planned to do all along), or he can assume that a suggestion spoken aloud by Lizbeth is his "Bird Brain" speaking to him (although he usually misinterprets her suggestion; however, his misinterpretation usually works). In the end, Captain Flamingo always seems to stumble upon a solution either through Lizbeth's cleverness, persistent refusal to give up and constantly trying new novelty items and plans until he succeeds, or sheer luck (or, quite often, some combination of the three). This show seems to be a gigantic Batman parody, as evidenced by the basic concept of a male dressed as an animal using gadgets to help people. Some advanced concepts, such as their non-acceptance of relationships is further proof Captain Flamingo is parodying Batman.

Running Gags

• Milo is unaware that Lizbeth has a crush on him, which is shown to the viewer during the opening title and during the show by her eyes turning into hearts.
• The fourth wall is broken several times, usually through the use of characters talking to the narrator (like in one episode where the narrator kept saying things related to vomiting, whereupon Milo yells at him: "WE GET IT, ALREADY!!!").
• Also Milo seems to be completely clueless at times, as in one episode he was completely unaware that he wasn't wearing any trousers. A similar joke happened while he was packing up for "YTV's Big BBQ Blowout"; Milo finished packing his bags, but Ian (from Being Ian, another YTV show) pointed out that he wasn't wearing pants.

  Main characters

  Milo Powell/Captain Flamingo: Motivated, driven Milo Powell is equipped with the imagination and faith to become a superhero. He stands proudly in his homemade super-tights, his unwieldy flamingo-beak helmet and terry cloth cape, ready to take on an outsized world! With Milo, things rarely turn out as planned, but somehow they do always manage to turn out all right. He carries a heavy heroic burden because kids everywhere rely on him, so he approaches their problems with utmost seriousness—as if the fate of their world depended on it (and maybe it does!). In the episode "Switch Hitch", where Wendell and Milo switched lives, Milo seemed quite jealous of Wendell's feelings towards Lizbeth. It is later revealed that he may love her. When Lizbeth and the rest of his friends were walking away with an imposter, he had shouted "Lizbeth, I love you-I mean how you..."
  Lizbeth Amanda Zaragoza: The Captain's best friend, sidekick, and not-so-secret admirer, Lizbeth is focused and organized, however, she's just a puddle of emotions when it comes to Milo Powell, her favourite square shaped boy. She's a devoted follower and chronicler of his heroics, and, unbeknownst to him, is the voice of the "birdbrain" that often inspires the Captain to save the day. Lizbeth is strong and smart but a bit of a loner because of it. Her best friend, besides Milo, is her monocled stuffed elephant confidante, Chester. Lizbeth is secure in the knowledge that girls mature faster than boys, so she knows one day Milo will catch up and appreciate her. So, for now, she's willing to guide him along and wait patiently for that special day. She acts so because Milo saved her life when they were babies, when Lizbeth nearly fell out of the sandbox onto the concrete sidewalk and Milo threw himself in front of her to save her, and never forgets about it (although witnesses say that what really happened was that Milo became distracted by a butterfly, and, unable to concentrate and keep himself up at the same time, fell down into a heap, unintentionally saving her).
  Thor Powell: Thor is Milo’s diaper-clad baby brother. Thor likes to crawl after Milo and ride his cape. And he likes to slobber on Milo’s tights. As Thor’s primary babysitter, Milo often has to juggle his little brother and his work—sometimes literally.
  Margerie Powell (Milo's Human Mom): Short like Milo and a little nasally and chirpy, Milo's mom has her own life as an ornithologist. She loves her boys, but adult schedules and family events come first before little kid desires. She's very huggy and supportive, but also extremely practical and firm. If she's said 'no' twice, Milo knows asking a third time would be foolhardy. Her first name was revealed to be Margerie by a young Mr. Powell in the episode "Future Imperfect".
  David Ignacius Powell (Milo's Human Dad): Deadpan, monotone and humourless, Milo's dad ironically runs a humour and novelty store where Milo gets his joke products from. With a voice that borders on deep-funereal, Dad is still somehow a warm guy, despite his overall stiffness. His full name was revealed in the episode "Fault Line" by Milo's mom.
  Owen-Only: Owen-Only is an over-protected only child. He's been padded, helmeted and parentally locked out of most of the thrills of being a kid. And pop-culturally, he's way behind. This character has never tasted junk food, or felt the wind in his hair while riding his scooter, or told a joke where the punch line was “poo.” So you have to forgive him for not getting stuff, or always stating the obvious, to the point of being really annoying sometimes. Given what he's up against, you gotta love the guy. Sugar makes Owen extremely hyperactive, his personality goes from sensible to lunatic if he gets even a taste of sugar.
  Rutger: Rutger always bites off more than he can chew. He's excitable, somewhat like a puppy, and has no lack of confidence. But with his maverick attitude, he's always getting himself into trouble by taking stuff on before he's ready or big enough to do it. For instance, rather than ride a dumb little dinghy in the wading pool, he'll construct a massive Titanic-like behemoth out of random floatie toys—only to have it sink dramatically, with him on board. The only kid who thinks as big as he does is the Captain; good thing, as Rutger frequently requires his services.
  Max Roderick: Max is one of the smartest, most sophisticated kids on the block. It's not his fault he's two feet tall and has a ridicuwous Elmer Fudd-like speech problem where his r's turn into w's, and he often adds w's to his l's. Therefore, 'really' becomes 'reawwy' and 'small' becomes 'smawl.' Luckily, Captain Flamingo gets him out of trouble. A lot. Max reveals his last name is Roderick in the episode "Max Invader, Scourge Of The Universe".
  Avi: Avi, aka 'The Avalanche Kid' has a real knack for disaster. Is it a bad moon that hangs over his head or just the overlong bangs that hang in his eyes? Whatever the cause, Avi is seriously dexterity-challenged. All it takes from him is one “uh-oh” move to start off an inevitable chain of mounting disasters. Captain Flamingo doesn't mind cleaning up Avi’s messes, usually, but sometimes he wishes Avi would plan and call ahead, because, let's face it: if he's going with his mom to the china shop on Monday, Milo really should book the week off. Avi has three identical looking younger sisters, who seem to have inherited Avi's ability to be a walking disaster, which also seems to run in his family.
  Wendell Howell: Wendell is Milo’s cousin and nemesis. He and Milo are always competing against each other. Wendell loves to point out how much better he is than Milo at everything (due mostly to the fact that he is, as he never lets Milo forget, an eighth of an inch taller than Milo, but that is the only way he is superior to him). A bit of a geek, Wendell always looks for a mathematical and/or scientific way to gain the upper hand over Milo. He later invents his own superheroic alter ego, Commander Whooping Crane (He chose this name because Whooping Cranes are taller than Flamingos by a good eighth of an inch) who almost replaced Milo as the neighborhood hero until he got into trouble and had to be saved by CF. In the episode "Switch Hitch", where Milo and Wendell switched lives, Wendell seemed to have feelings for Lizbeth. However, these feelings were unreturned. Wendell's last name is revealed to be Howell in "Scrambled Legs".
  Tabitha: Tabitha has two settings: freaked out, and really freaked out. She's on life’s fast track; every moment of every day is scheduled, and she plans to finish university and have an established medical career by the time most of us are just finishing breakfast. Tabitha's many playdates, lessons and various 'opportunities for growth' keep her busy, frazzled and close to implosion. But when someone's life moves as fast as hers does, things eventually slip—and the Captain is always there to pick up the pieces. Her bright yellow frizzy hair is a simple indicator of her stress-level. The more stressed she is, the wilder it gets - much to her dismay. She has a brother who loves drums, and a toddler brother who's into streaking!
  Sanjay: Easily distracted, Sanjay is the Indian kid voted “Most likely to walk into a tree while following a bird call,” or “Most likely to trip into a manhole while reading and jogging at the same time.” In fact, he may not even notice that he's in the middle of being saved by the fearless yet focused Captain.
  Otto: Otto could well be a genius.... or he could be a complete wacko. We'll only know for sure after he's grown up. But for now, he builds robots that go bad, constructs alternate universes that spin out of his control, and collects rocks that include most of the planet's ore supply. But the Captain saves Otto frequently and unquestioningly—and might even consider him his favourite customer. Otto has a crush on Tabitha, but unfortunately, she finds him disgusting.
  Kirsten McBradden: Kirsten is a red-headed sweet girl who really believes in Captain Flamingo, and is even doing a project on him for school and once became the subject of a play where only he had speaking lines. She asks him all sorts of fangirl questions, always proceeded by, “I was just wondering…”, and like Lizbeth she has a huge crush on Milo and often concocts fake troubles to get Milo to "rescue" her and to possibly spend time with him. Her crush on Milo seems to border a bit on the psychotic and Milo seems more aware of her crush then he is of Lizbeth's. Her last name was revealed to be McBradden in the episode "Bug Out".
  Ruth-Ann: Ruth Ann is Lizbeth's doppelganger-like rival; her blonde hair is even parted on the opposite side to Lizbeth. Where Lizbeth is spunky, Ruth Ann is a shrinking violet. Where Lizbeth is straightforward, Ruth Ann is the queen of the backhanded compliment. Worse yet, Ruth Ann has Milo wrapped around her finger, and she strings him along like she does all the other boys in town. Ruth Ann makes Lizbeth seethe, and more than once Lizbeth has voted not to rescue her nemesis because Lizbeth knows if Ruth Ann runs off with Milo's heart, she'll just break it. So she fights Ruth Ann for her square-shaped boy every time. She is the most popular girl at school and tells people what's hot and what's not.

• Baby Bugs – He is indicated to be the oldest of the babies, which validates him as the leader. His leadership however does tend to cause dispute, especially with Lola and Daffy.
• Baby Lola – She is second in the lead after Bugs but sometimes she takes charge. Her independence is greater than the others and she has more boyish tendencies than the other girls.
• Baby Daffy – Often he is self-indulgent and always wants his personal gain. When problems arise, he believes it is himself who is treated unfairly, not noticing the inconvience inflicted on the others. Half the time, he does show and mean good intent.
• Baby Melissa – She often sticks with Petunia. She is a highly ambitious and thoughtful sort with a good nature, but at times she can be a control freak and get on the others nerves.
• Baby Petunia – She often sticks with Melissa. She is smarter than the other babies with insatiable curiosity.
• Baby Taz – As much as Taz is well behaved, he often mistakes various objects for food and sometimes breaks things with his spin. He has a sense of fun which exceeds all the others and he is prone to being a cry baby.
• Baby Tweety – The youngest and the smallest of the gang. Depicted as the brainstormer, because he comes up with ideas when the others are fresh out of them. He is very sensitive about his small frame (which he must overcome in most episodes centered around him) and curious about what he encounters.
• Baby Sylvester – At times he is shy and hesitant and he makes an easy target for Daffy to hoax and trade with. He is rarely seen using his claws. He likes to get attention from Granny more than the others.
• Granny – She offers professional love and care for the babies to keep them happy. The babies are fascinated and touched by her wisdom and her ability to overcome problems when they arise.
• Floyd Minton – Granny's nephew. Sometimes he is overwhelmed by the responsibility he takes on the babies but he is determined never to let Granny down. He often keeps an eye on one of the individual babies in each episode during Season 2.

The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy (also known as Billy & Mandy: The Series) is an American animated television series that aired on Cartoon Network. The show began in 2003 and is a spin-off of the 2001 film Billy & Mandy and the show Grim & Evil. The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy follows two children named Mandy and Billy, who after winning a limbo game to save Billy's ten-year-old pet hamster, gain the mighty Grim Reaper as their best friend in eternal servitude and slavery forever and ever. The show ran from June 13, 2003, to November 9, 2007 (though due to a successful spin-off, it ended by default on October 12, 2008), in all seven seasons with seventy-one episodes were made in its original run. In addition to the episodes; three movies, two special episodes, and nineteen shorts were made, with 3 award wins for the series as a whole. Billy & Mandy has also been made into a video game as well as various licensed merchandise.

Overview

The series is centered around the exploits of two young children—the optimistic, dim-witted, and kindhearted Billy, and the dark, ill-tempered, sinister, and very intelligent Mandy. After cheating at a limbo match against the Grim Reaper (out of retaliation for putting the limbo rod too low for them to go under), he is enslaved in a perpetual, unwanted friendship with the children, who use his magical abilities and supernatural powers to venture into supernatural locations or environments, such as the underworld, inhabited by an assortment of grotesque monstrous beasts. The pair also may use Grim's enormously strong supernatural abilities or ties with a number of beastly characters to achieve goals or desires for themselves with grotesque, altered, or twisted end results. Famed fictional monsters including Dracula, the Wolfman, and the bogeyman are also comically depicted in the series, which also includes the characters of the nerdy, awkward Irwin and the snobby, stuck-up, spoiled Mindy.
The continuity of the show is far from clear, as many episodes leave complex situations unresolved. Characters sometimes display an awareness of some events from previous episodes, but rarely do they stay gone when exiled or dead when killed. There are no clear character arcs or coherent plot lines tying the show together, but its randomness is part of the humor. Two universal constants remain throughout the series: that Mandy is always cold-hearted and evil, and Billy is always idiotic and stupid.

Characters

The Grim Reaper ("Grim") (voiced by Greg Eagles) is a skeleton Reaper with a Jamaican accent, who holds a scythe and wears a black hooded cloak. After losing a game of limbo to Billy and Mandy, Grim is forced to be their best friend forever. Though Billy is friendly and kind towards him, Mandy treats him coldly and dominantly, and this angers and irritates him to the point where he constantly fantasizes about killing both of them. However, there have been instances that show that he does care for them while also finding them both obnoxious.
Billy (voiced by Richard Steven Horvitz) is known for being slow with a low IQ and causes the most trouble for the three as a result. He wears a red hat, dark blue pants, a white shirt striped dark blue, red shoes and has a big pink nose. Billy is often kind to Grim, although he is seen by Mandy as more of a servant than an actual friend. His biggest fears are clowns and insects and often uses tangelos to ward them off. Overall Billy has a friendly personality.
Mandy (voiced by Grey DeLisle) is a cynical and arrogant girl with blonde hair with a black hairband, black shoes, and a light pink dress with a yellow flower on it. Mandy, unlike Billy, is smart and loves absolute power, order, chaos and control, which is something she uses to make Grim her obedient servant and slave. Billy and Mandy are best friends, although sometimes it is hard to tell. She almost never smiles, and denies it when she actually does. Her parents are also scared of her. Mandy usually gets what she wants and she does not hesitate to speak her mind. Despite her usually cold, dominant, and pompous demeanor she has from time to time been helpful and shown some general concern to both Grim and Billy.

"Winnie-the-Pooh," as he was originally called, first appeared in a story written by A.A. Milne, who based the characters off his young son Christopher Robin and the boy's stuffed animals. The original toy bear was named after Winnie (short for "Winnipeg"), a bear that had been adopted as a cub by a Canadian soldier during World War I, who was a popular attraction at the London Zoo.

Personality

Pooh is described as being stuffed with fluff, as well as being "a bear of very little brain." He is generally kind and friendly towards everyone he also is very childlike and likable. He can be very courageous in tough times, and is consulted when trouble occurs. Pooh is also known for his love of honey (or "hunny" as he spells it). He keeps a supply of pots at his home, but they are often empty due to his appetite. When he runs out, he often travels to Rabbit's home to borrow some. Loyal to his friends and often entitled to "leader of the group". Pooh has a knack for being very optimistic during times of despair. Out of all the animals, Pooh is the one who is the closest to Christopher Robin.

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

Pooh features prominently in the first two segments, Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree and Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day, and plays a supporting role in Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too!

The first segment showcases Pooh's attempts to gather honey after he runs out. He first attempts to get some from a bee tree, going so far as to disguise himself as a raincloud. Even with Christopher Robin's assistance, however, all of Pooh's attempts fail. Afterward, Pooh decides to go over to Rabbit's house, as Rabbit always invites him to lunch. In reality, Rabbit fears these visits, but reluctantly gives in. However, Pooh eats so much honey, that he becomes stuck in Rabbit's front door. As the only remedy is to wait until Pooh grows thinner, Pooh must wait to be pulled from the door. At one point, Pooh meets Gopher, who offers to dig him out, but is chased off when Gopher offers to give Pooh more honey. Finally, Pooh grows thin enough that he can be removed, but Christopher Robin and friends pull him so hard that Pooh nearly flies out of the book before landing in a honey tree, where he happily eats.

In the next segment, Pooh learns from Gopher that it is "Winds-Day", so Pooh travels to wish his friends a Happy "Winds-Day". Pooh is forced to rescue Piglet via Piglet's unraveled scarf, when the strong winds blow Piglet away. During the adventure, Pooh inadvertently harvests Rabbit's carrots while plowing through Rabbit's garden. Later on in the day, Pooh pays a visit to Owl. During the visit, Owl's tree home blows over and is deemed unreparable. That night, as Pooh is at home, he is unexpectedly visited by Tigger. Tigger introduces himself and leaves as quickly as he came. However, Pooh is terrified by the stories of the honey-stealing Heffalumps and Woozles Tigger spoke of, and takes measures to protect the honey. That night, Pooh dreams of the honey thieves, and awakens to a flood. Pooh manages to get to a tree limb with some honey pots, but falls into the river while eating. Pooh eventually floats into Piglet, inadvertently rescuing his friend from the flood. Both arrive at Christopher Robin's home, and Pooh is given a party in honor of his actions after the flood ends. When Piglet chooses to let the homeless Owl have his home, Pooh offers to let Piglet live with him.

In the third segment, Pooh is roped into Rabbit's plan to lose Tigger in the mist as a punishment for his excessive bouncing. However, Pooh, Rabbit and Piglet become lost themselves. Rabbit walks off on his own, and Pooh is able to get himself and Piglet home, claiming that his honey pots were calling to his stomach. In the winter, Pooh and Piglet are walking through the woods, when they notice that Tigger and Roo are stuck in a tree. After getting Christopher Robin, Roo is saved by jumping down onto Christopher Robin's coat. Tigger is eventually brought down by the Narrator. At the end, Pooh is taught to bounce by Tigger.

The closing scene of the film shows Pooh and friends dealing with the fact that Christopher Robin must go away to school.

Toate povestirile fuseseră publicate anterior în reviste între anii 1893-4. Cea mai cunoscută parte cuprinde trei povestiri despre aventurile unui „pui de om” abandonat, Mowgli, crescut de lupi în jungla indiană. Probabil, cele mai cunoscute dintre celelalte sunt "Rikki-Tikki-Tavi", povestea unei viteze manguste, și "Toomai al elefanților", povestea unui tânăr îmblânzitor de elefanți.

A doua Cartea Junglei a urmat în 1895.

The Jungle Book (1894) is a collection of stories by English Nobel laureate Rudyard Kipling. The stories were first published in magazines in 1893–94. The original publications contain illustrations, some by Rudyard's father, John Lockwood Kipling. Kipling was born in India and spent the first six years of his childhood there. After about ten years in England, he went back to India and worked there for about six-and-a-half years. These stories were written when Kipling lived in Vermont. There is evidence that it was written for his daughter Josephine, who died in 1899 aged six, after a rare first edition of the book with a poignant handwritten note by the author to his young daughter was discovered at the National Trust's Wimpole Hall in Cambridgeshire in 2010.

The tales in the book (and also those in The Second Jungle Book which followed in 1895, and which includes five further stories about Mowgli) are fables, using animals in an anthropomorphic manner to give moral lessons. The verses of The Law of the Jungle, for example, lay down rules for the safety of individuals, families and communities. Kipling put in them nearly everything he knew or "heard or dreamed about the Indian jungle." Other readers have interpreted the work as allegories of the politics and society of the time.The best-known of them are the three stories revolving around the adventures of an abandoned "man cub" Mowgli who is raised by wolves in the Indian jungle. The most famous of the other stories are probably "Rikki-Tikki-Tavi", the story of a heroic mongoose, and "Toomai of the Elephants", the tale of a young elephant-handler. As with much of Kipling's work, each of the stories is preceded by a piece of verse, and succeeded by another.

The Jungle Book, because of its moral tone, came to be used as a motivational book by the Cub Scouts, a junior element of the Scouting movement. This use of the book's universe was approved by Kipling after a direct petition of Robert Baden-Powell, founder of the Scouting movement, who had originally asked for the author's permission for the use of the Memory Game from Kim in his scheme to develop the morale and fitness of working-class youths in cities. Akela, the head wolf in The Jungle Book, has become a senior figure in the movement, the name being traditionally adopted by the leader of each Cub Scout pack.
